The newspaper says she was in fair condition, having been shot in the face by her ex, who committed suicide. Also, she lived on 35th, not 25th.
When I search her name in Iowa missing clearinghouse, there’s no match using her name. https://dps.iowa.gov/divisions-iowa-department-public-safety/iowa-division-criminal-investigation/missing-persons
Pali8r, she wouldn’t have been listed there because it wasn’t a missing persons case.
The list of cold cases provided by the Des Moines Police Department shows the crime address as 1300 E. 25th Ct.
This is such a strange case. She’s not listed on uncovered under Iowa unsolved murders and I cant find anything about her under any other unsolved murder cases. I’ll have to check out the DM PD. I hope she truly is alive but it’s proven difficult to find anything on her. I may check out ancestry and see what I can find on there.

Aimee, have you contacted the Des Moines Police Department to ask why her case is listed as an unsolved homicide or confirm this is the same Becky Palmer? You’d want to reference case number 1990-40843. (The info we have listed above came directly from the DMPD, though it is all the info we have on file for the case. I’ve searched archives, but was unable to come up with any additional material on the case.)
