About Gone Cold
Gone Cold: Exploring Iowa’s Unsolved Murders is a collaborative partnership with the Iowa Newspaper Association and Iowa news organizations to revisit some of the most brutal and mystifying homicides in state history.
The weekly series will feature a number of the state’s 438 unsolved murders, with articles published simultaneously across the state in participating newspapers. Our hope is that by sharing these stories, justice will come for some of these victims.
We extend a special thanks to Chris Mudge, Executive Editor at the Iowa Newspaper Association, and Amalie Nash, Executive Editor/Vice President at The Des Moines Register, for all their ongoing work and the commitment they’ve made to this worthwhile partnership.
At DesMoinesRegister.com/GoneCold, explore an interactive map of Iowa’s unsolved murders, dating back to 1847.
