The body of 74-year-old Mamie Sime was discovered in her rural Rolfe, IA, home on Tuesday, March 31, 1981, after firefighters responded to a fire there. Authorities first believed Sime had died in the fire, but an autopsy concluded Sime had died of stab wounds prior to the fire. Authorities believe the fire was deliberately set in an effort to destroy the evidence.
