Kevin Lane Morse, a 44-year-old minister, was shot on Thursday, June 20, 2002, while fishing along the banks on the Missouri River in Fremont County, Iowa. Fremont County authorities said Morse’s body was found near a levee next to the Missouri River below the Nebraska City Bridge along Highway Two.

Holly Rae Durben, 29, was pronounced dead on Saturday, July 18, 2009, after an emergency call brought Fremont County sheriff’s deputies to the Shenandoah home she shared with her boyfriend, Brian Heath Davis. Durben died from a gunshot wound. On Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, Davis was found guilty of 1st degree murder in Holly’s death.
