Sixty-six-year-old Harold Doerring was reported missing to the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office in Decorah, Iowa, on February 16, 1997. Authorities found Harold Doerring’s truck abandoned on Highway 218 south of Mount Pleasant in Henry County on February 23, 1997. When they tried to contact him about the vehicle but could not find him, they discovered no one had seen Doerring since February 16 in Cedar Falls.

Jackie Douthart, 24, went missing on May 22, 2011 from Mount Pleasant. She was last seen by Benjamin Biggs, who was termed “a person of interest” in her disappearance. Biggs killed himself about a month later following a high-speed chase and standoff with police in Quincy, Illinois. Her skeletal remains were found in March 2012 near the border between Henry and Jefferson counties.

    My 2 daughters ,,son gr.sons and brother just moved up to mt.pleasant within this year and thier health and other matters haven’t been so great kinda concerned.

      Brandy, thanks so much for the heads up! I had the year correct on Jackie’s page but for some reason had repeated 2011 here instead changing the second date to 2012. Thanks for catching that and for your kind comments.
