Robert Davis charged with first-degree murder: March 10, 2025
Barbara Lenz was last seen by her boyfriend, Robert Davis, who said he dropped her off at her apartment on May 6, 1989. Barbara said she was going to visit an old boyfriend in Omaha that afternoon, but never arrived. On May 17, 1989, the victim’s family called the Woodbine Police Department and reported they had not had contact with her since May 3, 1989.
The Iowa Attorney General’s new Cold Case Unit, which launched statewide in July 2024, brought fresh eyes to the case, and on March 10, 2025, arrested Davis and charged him with first-degree murder.
