Hello. Just moments ago at the time of me typing this , ( April 25 , 2023) I came across a picture of Kimberly Sue Doss on a random missing persons website . ( It could have been Fandom, but I don’t want to back out of this post to check ) . Whenever I see photos of a young female that might fit the description of Vidor, TX Jane Doe, I stop scrolling and look at their missing dates. I looked at Kim’s age and height and hair and so I searched further and found myself on this Iowas Missing Person page. It’s very eerie to tonland on this page and find out that Kim had ties to Texas . The Vidor, TX Jane Doe’s remains were found on January 1, 1984 not far from Interstate 10. They believed that the person had passed within the three preceding months ,but most likely in December 1983 according to the reports. So If this can help her family , please look into the case of the Vidor, TX Jane Doe.

Waterloo Iowa, near a convince store, kum & Go, near a park, on a motel poperty, this could be a possibility, look into.

  3. Patrick Kerrigan says:

The few details claims she took a Greyhound bus from Texss to visit her father in Davenport. Yet, we have no information or proof, she even reached Davenport, or Iowa period. Then we hear that she might have been missing since 1980 and not 1982.

Where is Sgt. Joe Friday, who asks for the facts and speculation. Can we get some more facts of when she left wherever in Texas.

I wonder, if this was a spur of the moment visit or a planned trip. If it was a planned trip, did she have a suitcase. How long was she going to be in Iowa. We don’t where she started, if she made it out of Texas, crossed any state borders or decide to runaway.

    • Amanda says:

Could she have gotten braces ? Or plastic surgery to change her appearance? Had anyone from the greyhound bus seen her get on the bus? Did the bus driver who would of driven it there see her talking to anyone? Did the police even look Into any of these questions ? I am so very sorry for your loss but these are the questions I think people should be asking. Give this family the peace of mind or find the daughter safely. Praying you get the answers you need. The family deserves justice or to bring their daughter home safely.

  4. Brenda says:

Why are there two different missing dates, two years apart? What is the real story here? And from what I understand, Kimberly was in Texas and took a Greyhound bus to Davenport Iowa to visit her father, but never arrived at her father’s house. So who verified that she actually made it to Davenport?

    • Angela m Erickson says:

She was in Texas visiting her father and was coming back home and she wouldn’t runaway there would be no reason to we have a awesome family that u love to be around not runaway from

    • Schelly says:

Her Mother and I verified it.

  5. Angela says:

Kimberly is my cousin and her mother and the rest of the family think about her every day we have thought of and tried so me different theories of wat could have happened to her so if u people have any suggestions we r open to hear them

    • Bea says:

Hello I saw ur post do u have anymore info about the disappearance and do u have any way to contact u

    • Jess says:

I’ve read she was 13 and also 16, what age was she and is the family even sure she made it to Davenport, IA? Has the family contacted the greyhound company and got a list of cities it would have stopped at to compare Jane Does in those towns/cities? I’ve taken a bus ride from Davenport, IA to New Mexico and back and had 6 scheduled stops one way and 4 stops on my return, some up to a few hours long where we ventured the cities while we waited to board the next bus. Also a few unplanned breakdowns and bus exchanges along the way in the middle of nowhere. Some are saying they are not even sure she made it Davenport or even reached the state of Iowa. Was she dropped off at the station in Texas and physically seen boarding? In the 80’s these cases were handled so differently than in today’s world but I feel like her story is missing so much information for the public as a whole that would be beneficial. Absolutely no hard details and a few discrepancies I’ve came across! My deepest sympathies to her family and I hope for answers and healing! Any details rather than the short few would be great to help bring her home and possibly to rest!

      • Patrick Kerrigan says:

Jess, thanks for your comments and questions. The lack of details bothers me. We have a couple cases that law enforcement don’t provide a lot of details.

Yet, they ask the public for their help. How, can we help, if they don’t give us details. In some cases we know that a specific caliber firearm was used to murder someone. In other cases, it is not mentioned to protect the investigation.

This is still the story even in unsolved Cases going back over 40 or more years. Also, we have Cases where the investigative files are missing, were destroyed. Here in the Chucago area, a high school student was murdered during a gas station robbery back in the early 1970’s. The original case file no longer exists, so whatever was done by the police or whatever evidence may have been recovered is gone.

      • JOHN P. LAIRD says:

Has Kimberly ever been compared to to female body found in Blairstown, Warren County, NJ in August of 1982 known as “Princes Doe”. I have been saying this for years. Too many similarities to not investigate. Princes Doe’s composite drawing to Kimberly’s photos are very close. Dates of Kimberly being missing are not clear and how long she was with her father. What is the true date she was reported missing?

      • Schelly says:

        She was 14

    • June says:

Is she the Walker County Jane Doe?

      • Angela m Erickson says:

That’s kinda odd that lady does resemble her mom more then a little and also her moms name is Linda also

    • Stay Strong, Fight for Justce says:

There is a resemblance however Kimberly Doss was alive and last seen approximately two years (per info above) after the poor girl was found in Texas that you linked.

      Nice thought though (being sincere).

    • Patrick Kerrigan says:

The Jane Doe, was found in 1980. Kimberly disappeared in September 1982. Thanks for your research. The problem I have is the lack of details on many of these cases. What do we know about her family situation.

      • Angela m Erickson says:

Our family is very close and look out for one another and the lack of info and how some is wrong is because careless investigation..her mother has been looking for yrs and unless they don’t check her mom and dad gave DNA so if she has been found u would think they would figure it out

    • Sadie Belle says:

There are discrepancies with the date she actually disappeared. She is reported to have been missing as early as March 24, 1980, by family members. The 1980’s were a different time and missing children cases were handled far differently than they are today. Her mother lived in Texas at the time and her father in Davenport. I don’t think the Walker County Doe can be ruled out so easily. There is a possibility and without a DNA comparison to the family members to say one way or the other, it’s important she be considered

  7. Maddy says:

Schellt, I know someone who looks very similar to the girl in the picture. She has a lot of the same facial features, and she is now living very close to Davenport. I’m not 100% sure it’s her, but it looks very similar.

  8. John Laird says:

Has Kimberley Sue Doss’s DNA ever been compared to Princes Doe, Found dead in Blairstown, N.J. August, 1982. I have been inquiring for years now with no answers. Is it possible there are some mix ups with DNA samples from wrong parentage?

  9. Schelly says:

Kimberly sue Doss came up missing when she was 14 not 16. She came up missing in March 20th 1980 not1982. I kknow some knows information on her . If you do you do come forward not have to give you man just a phone # will do please help it has been 38 years please please help

    • Carla Frost says:

Do you know of walker country Jane die? Cold she be your sister?

    • Jody Ewing says:

Schelly, though Kim’s case has been removed from the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (IDPS) Missing Person Information Clearinghouse (MPIC), Kim is still listed on NamUs.gov as having gone missing at age 16, with the date of last contact on Sept. 1, 1982.
      https://www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/2919/details
NamUs gets this information directly from the investigating agency. When a case is removed from Iowa’s MPIC, they do not notify us as to why the individual has been removed. Yet Kim’s case remains on both NamUs and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

I cannot explain why she was removed from the State database yet kept on two national databases. Also, the lead detectives are rotated over time, and Det. Jordan Sander of the Davenport PD is currently handling her case file. His contact information is listed as (563) 328-6749.
