Gary Lee Counts, 42, was reported missing to the Fort Madison Police Department in Fort Madison, Iowa, on May 3, 1994, after a boating mishap. His body has never been recovered.

Family members erected a headstone for Gary Counts in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison, Lee County, Iowa.

Counts was described as a 5-foot-6 white male with brown hair, blue eyes, and weighing 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a sweatshirt, and has a one-inch scar on his abdomen.

Though his remains were never recovered, his family erected a gravestone for him at the Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.

Gary was born Nov. 28, 1951, and was survived by his wife, Shelley.
