Cecil DuBois, 73, was robbed and then beaten in his 1322 23rd Street home in Des Moines, Iowa, on November 15, 1974. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Polk County Medical Examiner Dr. R.C. Wooters ruled DuBois’s cause of death as heart and liver failed resulting from injuries sustained during the beating.

About Cecil Dubois

Cecil L. Dubois was born March 2, 1901 to Myrtle Ring and Samuel E. DuBois. He had two siblings, David Edward DuBois and Harold S. DuBois.

Cecil DuBois is buried at the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

He was survived by his wife, Margaret.

Memorial services were held Saturday, December 1, 1974 at the Caldwell-Brien-Robbins Funeral Home. Interment was in the Glendale Cemetery.

    Another unsolved attack on a senior citizen in Des Moines. Again no mention of any signs of forced entry. Off course, the police may have held back this information. Who knows, someone after all these years could walk into the police and claim they killed him.

    This would be a detail that trip him up, if he or she confessed to the crime.
