The truck driver’s wife reported him missing at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
Officials and volunteers searched 100,000 acres looking for the Wall Lake man.
The surrounding Sac County fields lay barren for miles on end; no cornfields or bean fields to push through during the late autumn days.
The reward for information about the man’s whereabouts grew.
Just before 2 p.m. on an unusually warm Wednesday, April 24, 2024, someone found a body in a farm field … just 1.5 miles west of where the piglets and the semi-truck driver came to a halt in the dark.
The man’s wife confirmed the boots found with the body were his.
