On May 3, 2005, four-year-old Josh Yoder was struck by a hit and run driver in the 500 block of South 9th Street in Clinton, Iowa. He died the following day at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

The Clinton Police Department is seeking information leading to the identification of the driver, or the offending vehicle, involved in the incident. The car was described as a medium blue 1990s Chevrolet Corsica that might have front end damage, police said.
Clinton County Crimestoppers will pay up to $1000 for information of value to the investigation. Several private citizens of Clinton have established a reward fund for information in the case.

On Tuesday, March 11, 1890, Henry Nurre, 76, and his wife were attacked in their rural Clinton County home near Brown’s Station, Iowa. Mr. Nurre, who suffered a large gash to the back of his head, died that same day. Mrs. Nurre, who was beaten in the head with a hammer and suffered a fractured skull, lived a while longer but was never able to provide any details about the killer or killers.
