Double Homicide On Saturday, September 13, 1980, the chopped up bodies of Rose Burkert, 22, and Roger Atkison, 32, both of St. Joseph, Missouri, were discovered in a motel room at the Amana Holiday Inn in Iowa County. A motel managed discovered the bodies about 1 p.m. on Saturday when the occupants missed the noon deadline for checking out of the motel. |

Missing Person William Rogers was last seen at his residence in North English, Iowa, during the evening hours of February 25, 2001. His home burned down during the night and he has never been heard from again. |
