Body Discovered April 11, 1975
On April 11, 1975, a commercial fisherman from Sabula discovered a young woman’s nude body in the Mississippi River north of Clinton, Iowa. The woman had been killed by a gunshot wound to the head, just behind her right ear. An autopsy indicated the victim was approximately 10 weeks pregnant at the time of her death.

Alysia Kay Marburger, 27, was last seen alive late Oct. 6 or early Oct. 7, 2008, and reported missing to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on October 10. Two weeks later on October 24, a body was discovered near the access road to Rock Creek Cabins in Camanche, Iowa, and positively identified as that of Marburger.
