Just after 11:30 p.m. on July 29, 1933, Fayette businessman Nels Louvring, 51, was shot by someone lying in wait as he walked from his car into his home at 315 Water Street. His wife Amy found him collapsed over the kitchen threshold with his cash receipts scattered around him.
