Chuck Deatsch

The death of Elmer Charles “Chuck” Deatsch, Jr., 52, left not only a family bereft, but an entire community. About 10:50 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008, Chuck was killed inside his rural home near Mystic, Iowa, by a single shot that was fired from outside. It was a senseless and seemingly random murder.

His wife and daughters, the neighboring farming community, his church, and the citizens of Mystic are left to wonder how such a monstrous act could happen to someone so loved and respected.

There is a $40,000 reward for information leading to the person or persons who coldly murdered Chuck Deatsch.
